• Funding settles every 4 hours (8 hours for BTC), capped at ±0.5% per settlement. Gold's last 6 funding rates were all exactly 0 — longs and shorts are balanced.
• They track an index price, not one exchange's trades. There are quotes and candles at the weekend (2026-08-22 in this data is a Saturday), but liquidity is concentrated on weekdays — check the app for what you can actually fill.
• Gaps: geopolitical news tends to land outside trading hours, so the price jumps. Leverage amplifies that.
