❓ FAQ
▸Why does Gate.io have the most altcoins?
Gate.io has been operating since 2013 and lists new tokens faster than any other major exchange, with 1700+ coins available.
▸Is the 20% rebate really permanent?
Yes. The 20% rebate is set on our referral link and applies for the lifetime of the account. Gate also runs an agent tier ladder that goes up to 70% (the official backend cap) for high-volume promoters.
▸Is Gate.io available in Philippines?
Gate.io is not explicitly banned by Philippines SEC, but we recommend cautious use as the regulatory situation is evolving.
🔄 Two extra fee savers on Gate: GT deduction and points (plus the truth about re-binding)
Gate’s user rebate is 20%, the same tier as Binance, OKX, Bybit and Bitget. Beyond that, Gate officially supports paying fees with GT or fee points to cut costs further.
Paying fees with GT (figures from the official fee page)
Conditions: Spot trading; Account → Fee Settings → enable "Use GT to deduct fees". When the GT balance runs out the system falls back to your VIP rate automatically.
How: With GT deduction on, VIP0 spot fees drop from 0.1%/0.1% (maker/taker) to 0.09%/0.09% — effectively 10% off — with lower figures at each tier up to VIP9 (e.g. VIP9: 0.07%/0.075% → 0.05%/0.068%); from VIP10 the GT rate equals the VIP rate, so no extra saving. Two official rules to know: (1) GT deduction cannot be combined with fee points; (2) fee points (1 point = $1, earned via platform events) carry a fixed 0.2% spot rate and a fixed 0.075% futures taker rate (maker follows your VIP rate, no points) — the spot points rate is higher than the VIP0 default, so do the math before using them.
VIP tiers lower fees
Conditions: VIP 0-16 is determined by 30-day volume together with GT holdings; higher tiers pay lower fees.
How: Hold GT or keep trading and the tier upgrades automatically — no application needed.
About re-binding a referral code (honest note)
Conditions: Already registered without a referral code.
How: Gate has no official re-binding channel: the code can only be entered at registration. To get the 20% rebate you need a fresh, never-registered email via the referral link on this page.

🤝 Gate “Agent” rebate tiers: 30% floor, up to 70% via the official backend
In Gate’s official system this role is called an Agent. We hold top-level agent status and can upgrade qualifying users tier by tier — the official backend caps a futures agent rate at 70%, with 10% that the system forces us to retain. The table below is our published standard.
1. Moving up
Applies to: Register through this page (default 30%), then meet the 30-day futures volume or invite bar.
How: Hit either condition and contact us; we upgrade you to agent in the Gate backend and open the matching tier. Tier protection: qualification is measured over the trailing 30 days; once you move up, the tier is held for at least 60 days, and only drops one step after two consecutive months below the bar — never all the way down at once.
2. Why the top tier is 70% and not 80% (so it does not look like we shortchanged you)
Applies to: 30-day futures volume ≥ $10M, or ≥ 30 invited users with a futures first trade.
How: In Gate’s Agent backend the futures slider stops at 70%; the system forces us to keep 10% (verified 2026-08-28). Reaching 80% would mean us hand-paying that 10% back to you off-platform — a self-funded rebate pool, which we permanently forbid (see rule 1 below). So we do not do it and we do not promise it. At 70% we make close to nothing on the spread; what we earn is performance, since your volume counts toward our agent record. Note also that Gate requires a support-ticket review whenever a client rate is 65% or higher — we file it, but approval is theirs.
Gate agent rebate tiers (our committed standards; volume OR invited users)
| Rebate tier | 30-day futures volume | OR new users invited (with a futures first trade) |
|---|---|---|
| Default 30% | automatic on sign-up | — |
| 40% | ≥ $300K | ≥ 2 |
| 50% | ≥ $1M | ≥ 4 |
| 60% | ≥ $2.5M | ≥ 8 |
| 70% (top) | ≥ $5M | ≥ 15 |
⚠️ Official red lines (violations lead to removal)
- • Everything settles through Gate’s official agent backend — no self-built pools, no off-platform cashback.
- • We never encourage anyone to close an existing account to re-register; the honest route is letting someone who has never registered use the code.
ℹ️ This table is our own commitment — we set these numbers and we open the tiers in the exchange’s official backend; they are not the exchange’s published flat rates. The default tier is automatic when you register through this page; higher tiers are opened on request once you qualify.
