Blast is winding down its L2 network, and in the same week BTCUSDT moved from 84433 USDT to 84560 USDT, a gain of 0.15%. Of 200 weekly samples, 97 were stronger than this one, so the week ranks 98th, only just above the middle of the range. The useful question is not what happened to one L2, but whether capital rotates toward BTC as a liquidity core or simply steps aside. All figures below come from the Binance API and can be checked directly.
Seven days, one real move
On 2026-09-28 BTCUSDT opened at 84433 USDT and closed at 83461 USDT, down 1.15%, the only meaningful down day. On 2026-10-01 it opened at 83576.8 USDT and closed at 84829.6 USDT, up 1.5%, the only meaningful up day. The rest drifted: 0.41%, 0.04%, 0.2%, -0.06%, -0.41% and 0.09%. The week ended at 84560 USDT, slightly above the 84433 USDT open on 2026-09-28, so the round trip came to almost nothing.

Where 0.15% sits in 200 weeks
BTCUSDT has 200 weekly samples and 97 were stronger than this week. The stronger ones include the week of 2023-03-13, from 21986.2 USDT to 27955.7 USDT, up 27.15%; the week of 2026-08-17, from 62876 USDT to 77719.1 USDT, up 23.61%; and the week of 2024-02-26, from 51764.9 USDT to 63178.5 USDT, up 22.05%. Those weeks are spread across 2023, 2024 and 2026, so large weeks are not tied to one regime. This week simply was not one of them.
What Square posts say
Square posts argue that Blast winding down its L2 network is another sign of cooling Layer2 narratives, since activity built on incentives struggles once incentives fade (relayed, not this site's view). Other posts say capital rotates from narrative L2s toward deeper markets such as BTCUSDT (relayed, not this site's view). Some add that an L2 exit does not invalidate scaling itself, only the subsidy-for-TVL model (relayed, not this site's view).
Three blunt points
Gaps are rare in BTCUSDT, but when they appear your stop may not fill where you wanted. High leverage hurts most through volatility itself, not through a wrong direction. Funding rates quietly tax overnight positions, and the best week is always obvious only in hindsight.
Fees, stated plainly
The Binance default maker fee is 0.02% and the default taker fee is 0.05%. With a 20% rebate, the effective maker fee is 0.016% and the effective taker fee is 0.04%. For anyone trading frequently, that gap shows up in the equity curve.
