CBRS Falls 14.44% This Week: Only 3 of 20 Weeks Were Weaker
CBRSUSDT moved from 207.03 USDT to 177.13 USDT between 2026-09-28 and 2026-10-03, a weekly decline of 14.44%. Over the same stretch NVDAUSDT rose 4.2% and OPENAIUSDT rose 0.87%. All three trade on Binance's US equity and private-valuation lines, yet they pointed in opposite directions, which suggests the week priced where compute orders land rather than the AI story as a whole.
The week's decline was concentrated in three days
| Date | open | close | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-09-26 | 206.48 USDT | 206.94 USDT | 0.22% |
| 2026-09-27 | 206.96 USDT | 207.03 USDT | 0.03% |
| 2026-09-28 | 207.03 USDT | 199.67 USDT | -3.56% |
| 2026-09-29 | 199.72 USDT | 192.81 USDT | -3.46% |
| 2026-09-30 | 192.84 USDT | 180.25 USDT | -6.53% |
| 2026-10-01 | 180.28 USDT | 171.85 USDT | -4.68% |
| 2026-10-02 | 171.85 USDT | 171.77 USDT | -0.05% |
| 2026-10-03 | 171.74 USDT | 177.13 USDT | 3.14% |
9-26 and 9-27 barely moved, with closes of 206.94 USDT and 207.03 USDT sitting next to each other while the market waited. 9-28 dropped 3.56%, 9-29 dropped another 3.46%, and 9-30 fell 6.53% from 192.84 USDT to 180.25 USDT, the heaviest day of the week. 10-01 lost another 4.68% to close at 171.85 USDT. Four straight down days carried the week's opening 207.03 USDT all the way to 171.85 USDT. 10-02 slipped just 0.05%, from 171.85 USDT to 171.77 USDT, which stopped the slide. 10-03 rebounded 3.14% from 171.74 USDT back to 177.13 USDT, recovering only a small part of the earlier decline.
16 of 20 weeks were stronger
CBRSUSDT has 20 weekly samples, and 16 weeks were stronger than this one, placing the week fourth from the bottom. Among the stronger weeks: 2026-05-18 fell from 299.49 USDT to 263.25 USDT, a 12.1% decline; 2026-05-25 fell from 263.24 USDT to 242.9 USDT, down 7.73%; 2026-08-17 fell from 223.77 USDT to 196.91 USDT, down 12%; 2026-08-24 fell from 196.91 USDT to 176.18 USDT, down 10.53%; and 2026-09-07 fell from 211.15 USDT to 184.78 USDT, down 12.49%. All five were down weeks, yet each decline was smaller than this week's 14.44%.
On the upside, 2026-07-20 rose from 171.17 USDT to 204.17 USDT, up 19.28%; 2026-08-31 rose from 176.2 USDT to 211.13 USDT, up 19.82%; and 2026-08-03 rose from 197.64 USDT to 226.91 USDT, up 14.81%. Within the same 20-week sample, the strongest rallies and this week's steepest decline sit side by side, a reminder that CBRSUSDT has always swung widely, only this week it swung down.
What the trending posts on Square say
Trending posts on Square argue the drop is tied to OpenAI turning to Nvidia, with compute purchasing shifting from one vendor to another, so the market sells CBRSUSDT and buys NVDAUSDT (relayed, not this site's view). Those posts also note OPENAIUSDT rose only 0.87% this week, suggesting the market did not read the news as OpenAI itself getting worse but as a reallocation among suppliers.
The tape lines up with part of that: NVDAUSDT rose 4.2% this week, with only 7 of 28 weekly samples stronger, so money did move toward Nvidia. Still, the posts' claim is a relayed view, not a verified fact. Order terms and durations are not something price action can prove. CBRSUSDT's 3.14% rebound on 10-03 also shows buyers stepped in at 171.74 USDT.
Three things easy to overlook
First, gaps. CBRSUSDT is a US equity USDT-margined perpetual, so the underlying trades during US hours while the contract runs nearly around the clock. On 9-28 it opened at 207.03 USDT and moved straight down, and on 9-30 it fell from 192.84 USDT to 180.25 USDT. A 6.53% single-day move leaves gaps between US sessions, and stop orders may not fill where you expect.
Second, leverage. These contracts carry leverage, so a 14.44% weekly decline is amplified proportionally in a leveraged position. Four sessions closed lower this week, and anyone averaging down on any of them faced lower closes afterward. Position size matters more than direction when it comes to surviving to the 3.14% bounce on 10-03.
Third, funding. Perpetuals use funding to tether price to the underlying, and funding direction shifts during one-way declines, changing the cost of holding. CBRSUSDT moved from 207.03 USDT to 177.13 USDT this week, a clear direction, but funding settles daily, so a week's cost is not just the price difference.
One more point: 16 of 20 weeks being stronger is a conclusion you can only reach in hindsight. At the 9-28 open, nobody knew this week would rank fourth from the bottom. Treating a realized ranking as a forecast for next week is a different exercise.
Fees
Binance's default maker fee is 0.02% and the default taker fee is 0.05%. After a 20% rebate, the effective maker fee is 0.016% and the effective taker fee is 0.04%. With CBRSUSDT swinging this much in a week, the more you trade in and out, the more fees shape the outcome.

Correction (2026-10-12): an earlier version said only 4 of 20 weeks were weaker and that the week ranked fifth from the bottom. Per the figures in the article (20 weekly samples, 16 stronger weeks, so rank 17), 3 weeks were weaker and the week is fourth from the bottom; both have been corrected.
