Evernorth closed its Nasdaq debut down 1.05%, pulling attention back to crypto-linked US equities. In the same window, COINUSDT fell 0.73% this week, ranking 21st out of a 36-week sample, with 15 weeks weaker than this one. Those three numbers give a concrete coordinate: not a crash week, but not a good one either, sitting in the back half of the sample.

Three days tell most of the story. On 2026-10-07, price fell from 186.5 to 179.37, down 3.82%, the first real down day of the week. On 2026-10-08, it slid from 179.36 to 173.44, down 3.3%, forming the week's low area. On 2026-10-12, it dropped from 183.33 to 178.46, down 2.66%, giving back most of the 3.97% gain on 10-09, 0.43% on 10-10 and 1.22% on 10-11. The close on 10-13 at 181.99, up 1.97%, trimmed the weekly loss to -0.73%.
Where it sits across 36 weeks
The COINUSDT weekly sample has 36 weeks. 20 weeks were stronger than this one, this week ranks 21st, and it sits in the back half of the sample. That means it is weaker than more than half the weeks, but 15 weeks were weaker, so it is not at the bottom.
Among the stronger weeks, several stand out. The week of 2026-04-13 ran from 165.71 to 201.21, up 21.42%. The week of 2026-08-17 ran from 149.28 to 188.36, up 26.18%. The week of 2026-06-29 ran from 149.07 to 174.48, up 17.05%. The week of 2026-09-14 ran from 171.97 to 195.42, up 13.64%. Others were only slightly higher, such as 2026-04-20 at 0.03%, 2026-09-21 at 0.29%, and 2026-02-09 and 2026-05-25 at 0.64% each. One was down: 2026-05-18 fell from 190.24 to 189.35, down 0.47%, a smaller drop than this week, so it still counts as stronger.
What popular posts on Square say
Popular posts on Square argue (relayed, not the view of this site) that Evernorth closing its Nasdaq debut down 1.05% affects sentiment toward crypto-linked US equities, and that COINUSDT, HOODUSDT, MSTRUSDT and CRCLUSDT tend to be watched together. Some see the debut decline as a sign of fading risk appetite; others note that a single-day 1.05% drop is small and the following days matter more.
This week, three of the four were weak: COINUSDT fell 0.73%, MSTRUSDT fell 2.78%, CRCLUSDT fell 2.33%, while HOODUSDT rose 0.68%. The linkage is real but not a straight line, and the posts remain opinion, not confirmed fact.
Three honest points
First, gaps are normal for these contracts. They track US equity hours, and thin off-hours liquidity means the open can skip past a price level, so stop orders may not fill where you expect.
Second, high leverage turns a -0.73% week into a very different experience. The -3.82% on 10-07 and -3.3% on 10-08 came back to back, and the higher the leverage, the easier such consecutive moves trigger forced reduction.
Third, funding fees slowly eat into holding costs. They settle on a schedule, and when the direction is unfavorable, part of a small gain or loss is ground away over time.
Fourth, the best week is a conclusion in hindsight. The 21.42% in April and 26.18% in August only looked obvious afterward. Ranking 21st of 36 is a snapshot, not a forecast.
Fees
Binance contract default maker fee is 0.02% and default taker fee is 0.05%. With a 20% rebate, the effective maker fee is 0.016% and the effective taker fee is 0.04%. These figures are fixed and apply regardless of direction.
