How do I buy my first USDT in India?
This guide is for India and rupees. Outside India the P2P steps are similar, but payment methods and fees differ.
The common route is P2P: you pick a seller's ad, pay them in rupees by UPI or bank transfer, and Binance holds their USDT until they confirm your payment. Then it's released to you.
Before you start
Get the Binance app only from the App Store, Google Play or Binance's official website, and sign up. Binance asks for identity verification for most features, so keep your ID handy. Use a bank account or UPI ID in your own name.
How a P2P buy works
In the app, open P2P, choose Buy, pick USDT and INR, and choose an ad. Enter how many rupees you want to spend, pay the seller exactly that amount from your own account, and mark the order as paid. Once the seller confirms, the USDT is released to you.
Picking a seller
Before you pay, check the ad's price, limits and payment methods, and the seller's completed orders and completion rate. Read the ad's terms. Pay only inside an open order, and only the exact amount it shows.
What it costs
Sellers set their own price, so the rupee rate differs from ad to ad. Compare a few. Binance says P2P fees vary by market. Its merchant guidelines list 0%–0.35% for ad posters (makers), depending on the market and pair, and your bank or payment app may charge separately. If you then swap USDT for another coin on Spot, the standard fee is 0.1% per trade.
Selling USDT back for rupees
It works the same way in reverse: choose Sell, pick a buyer's ad, and wait for the rupees to reach your own bank account. Check your bank app, not a screenshot, before you release the USDT. Keep every order's details and your bank statements.

Questions people asked
Where do you guys buy USDT or USDC from?
The two common routes are an exchange's P2P market and buying with a card inside the exchange app. On P2P, the exchange holds the seller's coins while you pay. Buying from someone directly, outside any platform, leaves no one in the middle if they don't send.
How do I convert USDT into rupees?
Sell it on P2P: pick a buyer's ad, wait until the rupees are actually in your bank account (check the bank app, not a screenshot), then release the USDT. Never release first.
How do I buy USDT with a credit card?
In the Binance app, look for the option to buy crypto with a card. If your card works there, the fee shows before you confirm, and your bank may add its own charge. Binance doesn't publish one card rate for every country, so go by the number on that screen.
Is P2P free?
Not always. Binance says P2P fees vary by market, and its merchant guidelines list 0%–0.35% for ad posters (makers). Either way, compare the price itself: sellers set their own rupee rate, so it differs from ad to ad.
